COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Blessing Box

If you drive around Donelson, you may notice a small green, yellow or orange box. It is called a “Blessing Box” and they are filled with dried & canned food, toiletries, food for babies & more. All of it has been donated by people in the community as well as the member of our congregation here. Anyone can give to it or take from it. The motto of the Blessing Box is “Take What You Need, Donate What You Can.” Sonya Dunkum started the “Blessing Box” in Donelson and have been in communication with various place around the Donelson and Nashville area to get these installed. We are glad to be able to help out the Donelson community in this way and hope that others can do the same. If you would like more information on the Blessing Box of Middle TN, check out their Facebook page here!

“Has been a great outpouring from the community to put some new stuff in here.”

Letter Writing Ministry

Our Letter Writing Ministry is a terrific outreach program to our visitors, elderly, sick, shutins, and members. Every other Sunday, a team of volunteers meets to gather lists of individuals who may enjoy having a special card or letter sent to them. Several of our Lebanon Road members have a special gift of writing encouraging words, and those that receive cards and letters from this team thoroughly enjoy them. Letters are sent to our visitors to let them know we appreciated their visit, and we hope they will come back for another visit. Elderly and shutins who cannot attend church and are often lonely, receive cards from this team regularly. Nothing can be more warming than to open your mailbox and find a letter from a caring person.

Members of our congregation also benefit from this program as letters and cards are written to each person for their chronological age birthdays and also their baptism birthdays.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry or know of someone who would like to receive a card or letter, please contact us.

Visitation Ministry Teams

Our Visitation Team outreach is a program to our visitors, elderly, sick, and shutins. Every Sunday, one of two teams of volunteers meets to gather lists of individuals who may appreciate a visit from a member of Lebanon Road. This team visits those people who have attended a worship service to let them know we appreciated their visit and hope they will come back again. We also visit the elderly who are unable to get out and around very often and also those that are unable to get out at all. Those who are sick and in the hospital, or are sick and confined to home, also benefit from this visitation team. This ministry is a wonderful, caring ministry and is possible due to the willingness and talent of several members of our congregation who are able to make these visits every week. If you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry or know of someone who would like to receive a visit, please please contact us.
