Missions
As a congregation, Lebanon Road has always been conscious of the need to help take the good news of Christ beyond its own neighborhood.
Throughout the years the congregation has participated financially in the support of numerous preachers and churches in foreign countries as well as our own country. Presently, the congregation helps provide support to the following congregations or works through two committees:
- The first is a committee that evaluates and recommends sites to the Elders with levels of support. This includes research, visits, reviewing documentation, and interviews. This committee is made up of Wes Carnahan, Doug Sanders, Lindon Stanley, Tommy Moore, Harry Middleton, and Mark Pugh. The following are financially supported by the Lebanon Road Church of Christ.
- Ephrata, PA – Pete Nuthak
- Rocky Mount, VA – Glen Wilcut
- Beech Island, SC – Glen Nichols
- Lexington, SC – Ernie Richards
- Gallion, OH – Oscar McCoy
- Oracabessa, Jamaica – Barry Gordon
- Treasure of Truth(Radio Broadcast)
- Worldwide Evangelism(Bible Correspondence Course)
- Two additional potential locations are under consideration.
- The second is a committee that is charged with fostering connections between the members of the Lebanon Road Congregation and the congregation that is being supported. This committee is made up of Tommy Moore, Harry Middleton, Fred Williams, Mark Pugh, Tim Roberts, and Steve Ledbetter. Action points to support this committee’s goals are:
- Visit each mission point twice annually.
- Have missions visit us and report annually to the Elders.
- Seek ways to increase Lebanon Road involvement with missions.
- Get children’s classes involved through cards and other means of encouragement.
- Get Youth Group involved.
- Get Letter Writer’s involved.
- Sponsor a Mission Emphasis Weekend (October 10, 11, 12, 2008).
